Have been here and I can say that I loved everything about this place.
This bed and breakfast is a tranquil, peaceful wonderful place. You are surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and warm and inviting hosts. This is ideal for a getaway with the family, an overnight stay for Weddings hosted near by, a full blown art experience or a place to simply recoup and relax.
The Afton Water B&B is an ideal location for walks in the glorious Glen Afton to enjoy the countryside, the wildlife and explore the connections with those great Scottish icons Wallace, Bruce and Burns. The house is full of character and there is always a warm welcome from Julie and Alistair and a new batch of artwork to enjoy. Delighted to say that two of Julie's works of Glen Afton and the Auld Kirk in the village of New Cumnock have pride of place in my house and warm reminders of my home town
I have visited Afton Water B&B several times and have had a fantastic time. Julie and Alistair could not make you any more welcome if they tried and you feel when you leave that you have made friends for life! I am not convinced that the person who has left a very negative review has actually stayed here and in their confused minds have mixed up this lovely B&B with somewhere else. The art is lovely by the way and definitely worth a visit alone for that!
I have stayed here a number of times and often with my nephews (9&13 years old)The welcome is friendly and feels like home. The building is beautiful and clean, despite my nephews love of playing in the lovely countryside and bringing it back on their clothes, the food is lovely and my nephews actually love it!Julie and Alistair are great hosts and make you feel at home.Both myself and my nephews have enjoyed the art experience and had fun learning.Julie and Alistair are kind, patient and great fun people. The only trouble is my nephews are always want to go back but when I go myself I don't want to go back home!
