What an interesting and comfy place, set in peaceful surroundings with 5 star furnishings and personal service. Definitely a destination B&B and brilliant for just chilling out in front of the log stove in old fashioned sofas.
Best place we stayed at in Scotland. Beautiful and peaceful location. The rooms are large. Luxurious first class with coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and home made soap. A beautiful lounge with a fireplace complements the surrounding green hills. The breakfast was better than what you would get at most 5 star hotels. The owners also manage the place and are just fantastic people. If we return to Scotland one day hopefully, the Old School will be top of the list to stay.

A fantastic place to stay within easy reach of Ayr and Dumfries and Galloway. Brilliant hosts. Lovely rooms which were old schoolrooms and lots of fun school paraphernalia lying around. The breakfast was very good with fresh eggs. We also took advantage of the dinner the night we arrived and were not disappointed. We would definitely happily return. Lots still to do around here.
Wonderful stay at The Old School, fantastic rooms, with sweeties!!! Liz is a very welcoming host and Mike is a first class cook. The toy wall is fun, lots of things to see, chalkboards to write on and even a Dunces cap! It was lovely to come back from a days walking to a comfy chair and a wood burning stove. So good that before I left I'd booked another stay. Oh! and ask to feed the chickens :-)
