Fantastic place to visit. They've recently done a lot of work improving the grounds and I've noticed increasing numbers of people visiting, which is good. The visitor centre has plenty of good info about the area, free flyers etc. They also sell books, including children's books, local jams, honey, soaps, candles as well as scarves, hats, toys and other bits and pieces.Staff are always happy to help. You will buy your tickets for the house and the walled garden here. The grounds are free to explore. Many paths are firm and should be ok for wheelchair users.Plenty of parking spaces.
Lovely Caf and great place to visit.
This is a fantastic and significant location. There is no shop, there is an outdoor play area for children and a small mountain bike track built here too.The most important and interesting is the Barony A Frame itself, this one is the last of its kind. Built as headgear for the former Barony Coalmine near Auchinleck, Ayrshire, Scotland. It's certainly an interesting location to visit with plenty of notice boards with information relating to the history of mining in the Barony Pit.The main shaft her was over 21ft in diameter and more than 2000ft deep. It took a long time to get from the surface to the coalface.
